Book Summary:
It's happening again! Los Angeles, the City of Angels, is once more besieged by the bizarre and the strange! A fresh but unidentified corpse, dressed as a priest, turns up in a niche in a mausoleum, while a trusted assistant of the Cardinal is kidnapped, and two precious objects disappear with him. The police are baffled, and obviously, only one man can bring order to chaos and solve the affair: Fr. John Baptist. Together with his trusty gardener, Martin Feeney, their gallant, well-dressed, and often inebriate friends, the Knights Tumblar, and an eclectic supporting cast of cranks, street people, and, of course, the police, Fr. Baptist, having faced down witches, vampires, and grave-robbers, will take on mystery that truly emerges OUT OF THE DEPTHS! As in the cop-turned-priest-turned detective's previous outings, in this book good and evil are intertwined yet always at war, the preternatural may be no further than your living room, and you yourself may be casually living in the strangest of tales. A welcome return of one who is rapidly becoming one of modern America's best loved fictional sleuths.

About the Author:
William L Biersach

William L. Biersach was born in Pasadena, California, on the Feast Day of St. Philip Neri, the "Laughing Saint", in 1953. A product of Catholic grammar and high school, he naturally lost his Faith when the effects of Vatican II came rattling through the world like a maniacal jalopy in the 1960's and 70's. He found his way back to Traditional Rome in 1993 and has been active in trying to reacquaint Catholics with their own religion ever since. The Endless Knot is the first of his Father Baptist novels. He is currently working on the rough draft for the sixth book in the series. He resides in a stone house somewhere in Southern California, likes spicy food, and hopes to retire in Heaven some day.

5 Stars John Baptist mysteries because I enjoy the novels so much
on November 7, 2015
Normally not leaning towards cozy mysteries that are almost 700 pages long because I get too anxious for the ending, I tackled the fourth of the Fr. John Baptist mysteries because I enjoy the novels so much. The characters are endearing and believable, so well developed and interesting. The humor of Martin is a hoot. William Biersach must be a riot at social gatherings with his sense of humor which is built into Martin. His creative use of adjectives is one of the best in authors I have read. Example: "Those overhanging shrubberies that served as his eyebrows shimmied up his forehead, brushed the golden fringe of his elegant biretta, and settled back down on the balustrade of his nose," or "Her gloved fingers did a little sashay up my tie, kicking high like a chorus girl in the midst of a frolicking encore." This book incorporated a lot of Catholicism and teachings, but not too excessive to bore a non-Catholic reader. If one wishes to get to the punch line quickly, this book would not be recommended as Biersach includes myriad sidebars of information. Overall, the book is very enjoyable and fun reading. I look forward to the next.

5 Stars I can't recommend Bill Biersach' s works without using superlatives
on October 3, 2014
I can't recommend Bill Biersach' s works without using superlatives. It was funny (VERY funny) , while also providing painless lessons on true Catholicism. Once you finish one of his books, you're a goner, and you will be forced to buy every single thing written by this excellent author. has written He also supplies "who done it" mysteries. How he does all that in one book, is hard to explain..You'll just have to buy the book!
