5 Stars Very good series--characters are realisticly flawed
on October 9, 2014
I love the Francesca Bibbo books. The characters are flawed which makes them more realistic. I enjoy how Murray strategically uses her animal characters in her stories to somehow affect the plot. My only complaint is that the murder took place on August 15 which is a holy day of obligation in the Catholic Church, but no mention was made of this fact. Even in the priests' alibis they didn't say they were saying Mass! Keep these books coming, Ms. Murray!

4 Stars A mystery that will keep you turning the pages
on February 23, 2015
I had no idea this was the third book in a series, and it reads fine on its own. As it turns out, I read the second book, Death of a Liturgist, a few years ago and loved it. I really enjoyed this one, too, and did not have it all figured out despite my best attempts. Cleverly written all around, with dialogue that held up and characters who had some extra color. The mystery was actually a mystery, and I caught myself trying to stay up to read just one...more...chapter. Though I found the romance bit a bit much, I still recommend it with a smile. See if you don't find a new favorite character when you read it. (Mine is Mo-Mo, hands down.)
