Book Summary:
This bestselling book that birthed the Divine Mercy movement, one of the fastest growing movements in world today. This amazing narrrative will stir your heart and soul while it chronicles the experience of a simple Polish nun.
About the Author:
Maria Faustina Kowalska

Sister Faustina was a young, uneducated nun in a convent of the Congregation of Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy in Poland during the 1930s. She came from a poor family that struggled during the years of World War I. She had only three years of simple education, so hers were the humblest tasks in the convent, usually in the kitchen or garden. However, she received extraordinary revelations from our Lord Jesus. Jesus asked Sr. Faustina to record these experiences, which she compiled into notebooks. These notebooks are known today as the Diary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska, and the words contained within are God's loving message of Divine Mercy. Though the Divine Mercy message is not new to the teachings of the Church, Sr. Faustina's Diary sparked a great movement, and a strong and significant focus on the mercy of Christ. Saint John Paul II canonized Sr. Faustina in 2000 making her the "first saint of the new millennium." Speaking of Sr. Faustina and the importance of the message contained in her Diary, the Pope call her "the great apostle of Divine Mercy in our time."

Diary: Divine Mercy in My Soul
5 Stars Incredible journey of a saint
on November 18, 2011
The Diary of St. Faustina helped me to appreciate Jesus Christ, love Him better. and learn the history of this chaplet. Because of her personal relationship with Jesus and with God, it helped me to understand my own journey with Christ more clearly. Her book is also helping me with my own personal journey back to Christ. St. Faustina spoke vividly about the trials and tribulations she underwent. I'm not trying to be sadistic, but I liked reading about them, because it taught me a great deal how to manage my own periods of sadness and spiritual struggles. Some critics have said St. Faustina spoke with a childlike simplicity. But, I guess the purest love is expressed in a similar fashion. She was extremely humble always submitting her will to that of God's. I highly recommend this book for any Christian -- whether they are Catholic -- or not.

2 Stars Very Interesting story - but the book in which it's printed is poorly produced
on June 30, 2015
The story itself is fascinating and worth a read. The soft covered book, which I received, has the text too close to the binding on the page, making it difficult to read. You are forced to read along a curved surface at the center point of the book along the binding. Also the text is very small. I have a different soft cover version of this book and the book is about 25% larger, as is the text and the print is properly positioned on the page.

4 Stars I have recommended it to many friends
on March 15, 2016
This book has been very inspiring in my life. In fact, I have recommended it to many friends, just to let them know the love that our lord Jesus Christ have for mankind. His death on the cross and the extension of his two hands on the cross shows the amount of love he has for us. How can we not love him back and live the life he expects of us. But we must love one another first just as he has loved us. There were certain doubts that I had about the Catholic church before I read the book, but not anymore.

Diary: Divine Mercy in My Soul
5 Stars Inspirational and Understandable
on November 28, 2015
Her writing style is easy to follow , unlike some writings of some "heavy theologians" I have read. It reads like a story yet the inspirational message is soothing and comforting. It is rather distinctly a Catholic book, but followers of religions very similar to Catholic may find it a wonderful reading and meditative work. Recommend it very much.

5 Stars Knowing the value of Mercy
on November 20, 2015
The diary provides an in-depth study of what a soul seeking Jesus should consider when attempting a deeper relationship with God. Each page enhances the understanding of steps she herself took to go deeper into this relationship. With the "Year of Mercy" upon us as pronounced by Pope Francis, this book has offered a tremendous guideline toward serious contemplation of the reality of God's mercy.
