Whether we realize it or not, many of our loved ones are quietly struggling—with doubt, guilt, isolation, compulsions, grief, or hopelessness. Yet even with the best intentions, it’s often hard to know how to help beyond offering “thoughts and prayers.” Mission-Ready Friendship provides a clear and practical roadmap for how to love others more intentionally, accompanying them through life’s challenges as true friends in Christ.

Jason J. Simon, president of the Evangelical Catholic, knows from experience how one intentional friendship can change everything. After years of drifting away from faith during high school and college, Simon’s life began to turn when a man named Chip—whom he met after Mass—noticed his pain and reached out in genuine friendship. That relationship not only drew Simon back to God but also shaped his lifelong mission of helping others do the same.

In Mission-Ready Friendship, Simon shares simple, accessible steps that any Catholic can follow to cultivate deeper and more purposeful relationships. Readers will learn how to:

  • Be more curious, empathetic, and invested in others

  • Pray intentionally for the people God has placed in their lives

  • Recognize and respond to the Holy Spirit’s promptings in daily encounters

  • Bring purpose and faith into friendships naturally and without pressure

Drawing from the example of Jesus and his disciples, Simon demonstrates how ordinary friendships can become channels of extraordinary grace. By practicing mission-ready friendship, you’ll not only help others encounter Christ—you’ll discover his transforming love more deeply yourself.
