Good book for short, reflective readings.

I'd seen a little of the Catholic Gentleman blog before reading this book. Knowing the quality online, I was happy to get this book as a gift.

Don't expect any major depth from this book. You're not going to come away with a comprehensive manual on Catholic Masculinity. Guzman's intention is for the reader to supply the depth, through reflection. I think it works, in that regard. Guzman writes very reflectively, in a way that compelled me to think about my own life, my spiritual health, my many and various failings as a man, and my need for God's Grace and Mercy.

I'd have wanted a little bit more about married life, but that might have been omitted for any number of reasons. Guzman gets a little personal in his writing, which makes it very enjoyable.

Got this book as a gift from the Columbus Catholic women's Conference, from my fiancee, rather than the good folks at Tumblar House.
