Leaving Loneliness Behind
U.S. Delivery in 5-10 business days.
Our connections with God and others are central to who we are. Yet many of our relationships—with family, friends, and even God Himself—are far from ideal, leaving us lonely and questioning whether we are truly loved.
In Leaving Loneliness Behind, licensed Catholic therapist Regina Boyd helps readers build the skills needed for deeper, more meaningful relationships with both God and others.
Boyd explains that emotional intimacy is the true antidote to loneliness. It involves opening yourself to others, sharing your feelings with honesty, and building trust through both words and actions.
She identifies five keys to emotional intimacy:
Recognize the potential depths in your existing relationships
Allow yourself to be vulnerable so that true intimacy is possible
Communicate through conflict in ways that foster trust and affection
Acknowledge the past and move toward emotional wholeness
Give of yourself generously for the sake of the relationship
Each chapter includes real-life stories that demonstrate how emotional intimacy can transform marriages, friendships, families, and workplaces. Drawing on Catholic wisdom, scripture, and Church teaching, Boyd shows how faith can heal our hearts and strengthen our bonds with others.
