When Tara McMullen said “yes” to marrying an Air Force fighter pilot, she knew she was entering a life defined by unpredictability, sacrifice, and separation. Between constant relocations, long deployments, and raising children far from family, military life quickly became more than a job—it was a calling that demanded faith, resilience, and trust in God.

In The Homefront Devotional: Navigate Military Life with Courage, Hope, and Faith, McMullen offers heartfelt reflections and spiritual encouragement drawn from her own experience as a military wife and mother. Through scripture, the Catechism, and the wisdom of the saints, she provides an uplifting guide for those living out their faith in the ever-changing world of military service.

Each chapter focuses on a defining aspect of military family life—identity, marriage, parenting, relocation, deployment, and beyond—offering spiritual insights and practical tools to help readers remain grounded in God’s love. You’ll find:

  • Reflections on trusting God amid constant transition

  • Encouragement for marriages stretched by time apart

  • Inspiration for parenting through uncertainty

  • Guidance for finding community and purpose in new places

  • Questions for journaling, couples’ dialogue, or group study

With compassion and honesty, McMullen reminds readers that the challenges of military life can become opportunities for deeper holiness. The Homefront Devotional is a companion for anyone seeking courage, hope, and faith in every season of service and sacrifice.
