There has been no greater promoter of the family Rosary than Venerable Patrick Peyton. Known around the world as “the Rosary Priest,” he dedicated his life to the Blessed Mother and to the prayer that most powerfully unites families in faith.
In The Family That Prays Together Stays Together, readers are invited to pray the Rosary along with Peyton, entering into the rhythms and mysteries of this devotion to deepen their relationship with Mary and strengthen their bond with her Son, Jesus Christ.
“The family that prays together stays together.” This simple phrase became Peyton’s lifelong mission. Through radio, television, and massive Rosary rallies, he inspired millions of families to pray together and find peace in Christ. This book continues that mission, offering a month-long guide for praying one decade of the Rosary each weekday while reflecting on the life of Jesus and Mary.
Each day’s entry includes:
A prompt to begin with the Our Father
A scripture verse connected to the mystery of the day
A short reflection based on the life and words of Fr. Peyton
A prompt to recite ten Hail Marys followed by the Glory Be
A concluding prayer and intention for the day
Each week focuses on one set of mysteries—Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful, or Glorious. From Monday through Friday, families pray a single decade each day; on Saturday, they pray the entire mystery together; and on Sunday, they reflect on their week’s intentions and bring them to Mass.
Whether you are new to the Rosary or have prayed it your whole life, this devotional helps families rediscover its beauty through the guidance of one of its greatest advocates. With Peyton’s encouragement, you will experience renewed peace and unity in your home through Mary, the Mother of Grace.
Fr. Patrick Peyton, CSC (1909–1992), was a priest of the Congregation of Holy Cross who dedicated his life to promoting devotion to the Rosary. After a miraculous recovery from tuberculosis attributed to the Blessed Mother’s intercession, he founded Family Rosary and Family Theater Productions, pioneering the use of radio, film, and television to spread the gospel. Known for the mottoes “The family that prays together stays together” and “A world at prayer is a world at peace,” he led millions in prayer across the globe. Declared venerable by Pope Francis in 2017, his cause for canonization continues.
Fr. Willy Raymond, CSC, served as president of Holy Cross Family Ministries from 2014 to 2022 and continues his ministry as an auxiliary priest in Easton, Massachusetts. A Holy Cross priest since 1971, he has served in education, leadership, and media evangelization, including as national director of Family Theater Productions.
