Discover what it means to become a man of faith through the lives of ten male saints and their experiences pursuing holiness.

In Holy Grit, Catholic life coach Paul George invites men to confront the challenges of modern life—struggles in marriage, parenting, suffering, and purpose—and take concrete steps toward the life God created them to live.

Many men grow up with an image of masculinity shaped by tough guys on TV—boxers, cowboys, gangsters, fighter pilots—the fastest gun in the West. They had courage, backbone, and grit. But George reminds readers that grit alone isn’t enough to satisfy a man’s soul: true strength begins with trusting God and embracing the call to holiness.

Rich in personal stories, spiritual insights, reflection questions, and practical mental health tips, Holy Grit helps Catholic men build a strong spiritual foundation to serve their families, parishes, and communities. Drawing on lessons from saints such as Maximilian Kolbe, Louis Martin, and John Paul II, George shows how to:

  • Overcome vice with St. Augustine

  • Pursue God through habits with St. Thomas More

  • Experience God’s healing power with St. Padre Pio

  • Surrender to the will of God with St. Peter

  • Develop daily discipline with St. Paul

Each chapter introduces a saint, offers practical takeaways for modern men, and includes reflection questions, an action plan, and a prayer.
