A mass-market paperback edition of Prince Caspian, book four in the classic fantasy series, The Chronicles of Narnia, featuring cover art by Cliff Nielsen and black-and-white interior illustrations by the original illustrator of Narnia, Pauline Baynes.

The Pevensie siblings travel back to Narnia to help a prince denied his rightful throne as he gathers an army in a desperate attempt to rid his land of a false king. But in the end, it is a battle of honor between two men alone that will decide the fate of an entire world.

Prince Caspian is the fourth book in C. S. Lewis's classic fantasy series, which has been drawing readers of all ages into a magical land where animals talk and trees walk for over sixty years. This is a stand-alone novel, but if you would like to read more of Lucy and Edmund's adventures, pick up The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, the fifth book in The Chronicles of Narnia.

C. S. Lewis:

Clive Staples Lewis (1898-1963) was one of the intellectual giants of the twentieth century and arguably one of the most influential writers of his day. He was a Fellow and Tutor in English Literature at Oxford University until 1954, when he was unanimously elected to the Chair of Medieval and Renaissance Literature at Cambridge University, a position he held until his retirement. He wrote more than thirty books, allowing him to reach a vast audience, and his works continue to attract thousands of new readers every year. His most distinguished and popular accomplishments include Out of the Silent Planet, The Great Divorce, The Screwtape Letters, and the universally acknowledged classics The Chronicles of Narnia. To date, the Narnia books have sold over 100 million copies and have been transformed into three major motion pictures.

Prince Caspian, rightful King of Narnia

The fourth book in the Chronicles of Narnia; Prince Caspian by C.S. Lewis is the sequel to what happened after the ending of the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. The story is about the Pevensies returning to Narnia after leaving in the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. They are called to Narnia hundreds of years later and there learn of the story of Price Caspian. Prince Caspian has been usurped and now fights to regain his lands and thus the Pevensies join in to free their land. A refreshing sequel to the events after the Pevensies leave, albeit with a new twist. The story is written in the same fashion as the other books in the series and feels more intense than the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. The chapters are of good length and the plot allows for the reader to remain intrigued throughout the entire novel. The characters are charming and aren't 2-dimensional, i.e. they have different motivations to be fighting for or against Prince Caspian. As always Lewis manages to sew in Christian elements and themes, but not as prevalent as other books. Still, they should be manageable for anyone to understand. 5 stars and a good book to read for children and all ages.
