Theistic Evolution: The Teilhardian Heresy
Publication Date: September 1, 2012
Dr. Smith's book has been an immense aid to me in rediscovering the depths of my Catholic faith as it relates to understanding the mystery of Creation, and the integrity of the 'tripartate cosmos' vs. the materialist perspective I was taught in a secular education. In shining the light of reason on Teilhard's (mistaken) vision, he brilliantly clarifies the traditional Christian understanding of the cosmos. A challenging, enlightening, and spiritually liberating read.
This is a must read for all Christians. It absolutely shows that without slayng the Evolutionary Philistine
in all its forms there is absolutely no hope of renewing human society in Christ, period!
If you've ever encountered the theistic evolution idea, and want to see how the basis for much of it falls under the slightest scrutiny, this book will help with that. While not everyone who subscribes to theistic evolution would know who Chardin was, his ideas often influence them, and this book explains the problems with those ideas, from both the scientific side, and the theological side.
