Fulton J. Sheen

Fulton Sheen
Archbishop Fulton Sheen is known for his preaching and especially his work on television and radio. His cause for canonization as a saint was officially opened in 2002. In June 2012, Pope Benedict XVI officially recognized a decree from the Congregation for the Causes of Saints stating that he lived a life of "heroic virtues" - a major step towards beatification - so he is now referred to as "Venerable." In winter 2019, his beatification was announced, and subsequently delayed at the request of various prelates in the United States. Sheen's writing is forceful and energetic, as he is quite outspoken of the many evils that plague Western society. His books are incredibly challenging, engaging, and they will kindle that fire within you when it comes to your Catholic faith.
